In 2019, Fake Fever spent the entire year creating ideas non-stop, leading to a massive collection of songs to choose from for an album. He ended up choosing 10 of those songs that he felt told a story, and turned those tracks into what we now know as “Surrogate”.

However, there were a ton of ideas that didn’t make the cut for the album, not because Fake Fever liked them any less, but just because they didn’t fit with the overall stylistic flow of the album (Surrogate).

Fake Fever did not want these ideas to go to waste.

"Runoff" is your chance to listen to these legendary deep cuts. While there are similar warped, melodic hazy pop sounds found on Surrogate, “Runoff”, or the “Surrogate B-Sides”, branch out into their own new territories with nods to lo-fi, house, glitch, footwork, shoegaze, big beat, and trap. This project plays as like an all over the place mixtape, all while being a connected surrogate counterpart album, all in one.

This was my nightly sleep album all throughout high school. There’s just something so soothing about a casual grocery store experience, and texture of this album is like your favorite cup of coffee, smooth and reliable. The samples are great, love that Chick Corea(RIP)is sampled. Horned Prince🌲🏴
